My Resume

Detailed Work Experience

Mother Goose Daycare

Pittsfield, IL

August 2014 - May 2018

It all began at my first job at the age of 14. This is where I learned how to be an employee. How to build relationships with parents (i.e. consumers) and how to operate on a fixed schedule outside of the education system. I learned how to care for children while also learning how to build work ethic and some foundational skills to build a future career.

Twin Pike Family YMCA

Louisiana, MO

December 2018 - January 2021

My second job was the first job I ever had to consistently get training for. Being a lifeguard and swim lessons instructor you have to have many certifications. Here I learned a great deal about how to deal with parents and patrons at the pool as well as how to teach and set good examples for foundational swimming. It was also the first opportunity I had to develop customer loyalty to keep parents coming back for lessons.

King Park Pool

Pittsfield, IL

Summer 2019 - Summer 2021

At this job I learned several skills but the greatest being how to lead. I held a coaching job for the local summer swim program which taught me a lot about how to lead children to success. Not only that but I learned how to deal with parents of children, how to organize and run swim meets, how to handle things not going the way we wanted, how to handle adults and children under pressure, and much more. While at this job I also started teaching private swim lessons which formed my very core time management, organization, and communication skills.

McKendree MetroRecPlex

O’Fallon, IL

August 2018 - July 2020

While at the MetroRecPlex I learned a great deal about how to work my way up the totem pole of a business. I started out as a lifeguard then to head lifeguard and eventually, became the aquatics manager. While in my final position here I learned a great deal about organization, Microsoft Office, and leadership. Not only was I in charge of hiring, firing, and scheduling lifeguards but also running and hosting swim/dive meets and water polo tournaments for the university, club swim team, and local high school. In addition, I also implemented a whole new style of swim lessons and presented several projects to staff meetings to bring patrons in.

Little Tigers Clubhouse

Gilbert, IA

April 2021 - August 2021

Though I wasn’t at this job long I did take some very valuable experience with me. I had the opportunity to work in an infant room (newborn - one year) where I had to memorize the schedules of nine babies. This job was extremely gratifying because I got to be there for one of the most formative times in a child’s life and make life-long connections with the families in the community. This was also my second full-time job while in school (where I was full-time the spring semester and took two classes in the summertime) and it helped a lot with my time management skills.

Farmers Savings Bank

Marshalltown, IA

May 2022 - July 2023

While working as a Universal Banker at FSB I greatly increased my customer service skills and also realized a customer service based job was not the best fit for me. I honed in on my relationship building skills and learned more cash-handling skills on a much larger basis. I also was introduced to regulatory and compliance laws, as well as the importance of confidentiality. There was a lot of great resources and experiences here that aided my education, particularly in risk management, operations management, and in terms of finance/accounting. This job required balancing transactions for several different key components of the bank, maintenance of records and accurate data, the ability to recommend appropriate products and services for customers, and the ability to efficiently multitask banking and teller operations.

BN’C Fieldhouse

Ames, IA

August 2021 - Present Day

This job was my first experience in the true customer service and food industry and the experience it has given me is unlike any other. I’ve learned how to operate POS systems, cash handling, handle unhappy customers, how to provide exceptional customer service/build customer relationships, how to sell drinks and food items, working in a fast-paced environment, and so much more. I worked my way from serving tables to behind the bar and it has been an amazing experience. I have also learned from this job that building trust, being transparent, and remaining honest with your employer is one of the greatest things you can do as an employee in every industry.

Sandhill Auto Salvage

Tama, IA

July 2023 - Present

Taking a job in production and logistics at an auto salvage yard was a huge career shift for me. Although, I think this is a huge testament to how I am able to adapt and quickly learn in different environments. While in this position I have learned how to manage relationships with our customer base in relation to the quality of and the transportation of their automotive parts. I also had to build and maintain relationships with freight partners in order to keep shipping prices manageable. On the operational side I was tasked with maintaining accurate purchase order records, tracking returns and rates of return, and keeping things in line on some of our third party selling platforms (eBay, B-Parts, etc.).
